Our approach is shaped by years of hands-on experience working with groups of all ages. Shawn brings over a decade of leadership experience as a Recreation Director in camp and community settings. Heather-Joy contributes a strong background in teaching and mentoring, ensuring every event is people-first, inclusive, and professionally run.
At its core, Laser Tag Ottawa focuses on creating memorable experiences where great gameplay, strong facilitation, and shared moments come together.

Shawn Batten is community-focused entrepreneur with a strong background in hands-on, service-driven leadership. As a dedicated dad and husband, he brings a grounded, people-first approach to everything he builds, shaped by years of working directly with teams, clients, and communities.
At Laser Tag Ottawa, Shawn oversees operations and event flow, ensuring every experience is well-run, safe, and engaging for groups of all sizes, including youth organizations, corporate teams, and student groups.

Heather-Joy Batten is a certified teacher with over 20 years of professional experience in education and group facilitation. As a mom to five, she brings structure, empathy, and a deep understanding of group dynamics to every experience she helps design with intention, care, and purpose.
At Laser Tag Ottawa, she leads program design and play-based experiences that build teamwork and positive group dynamics, delivering inclusive, well-structured activities for youth organizations, corporate teams, and student groups alike.
